Cornwall’s Specialist Workshop

POWDER COATING
OTHER PARTS
IN CORNWALL & PLYMOUTH

Professional powder coating for motorbike frames, bicycle frames, and other components. Hand blasting, aqua blasting, and oven curing in-house. Based at United Downs Industrial Park, St Day — serving Cornwall and Plymouth.

PROFESSIONAL POWDER COATING BEYOND ALLOY WHEELS

Autoshine Wheel Clinic’s powder coating facility was built around the demands of professional alloy wheel refurbishment, one of the most technically demanding powder coating applications in the automotive industry. That same equipment, expertise, and quality control is available for a wide range of other components. Whether you need a motorbike frame restored to factory condition, a bicycle frame given a durable new colour, or automotive parts refinished to a professional standard, our workshop has the capability to deliver outstanding results.

We operate a large hand blasting cabinet and an aqua blasting facility to thoroughly prepare components before coating — ensuring maximum adhesion and a finish that lasts. Separate ovens and spray booths for non-wheel parts allow us to maintain efficient turnaround times without compromising on quality. We stock an extensive range of colours and finishes, with access to hundreds more on special order.

OUR POWDER COATING PROCESS

1. Assessment & Quotation

We assess the component, discuss your colour and finish requirements, and provide a clear, upfront quote.

2. Cleaning & Degreasing

All grease, oil, and surface contamination is removed using specialist chemical cleaning processes.

3. Hand Blasting or Aqua Blasting

Components are blasted to bare metal using our large hand blasting cabinet or aqua blasting facility, creating an ideal surface for coating adhesion.

4. Pre-Heat & De-Gas

Parts are pre-heated in our industrial ovens to release trapped gases that could otherwise cause surface bubbling.

5. Powder Application

Powder coat is electrostatically applied to the component in a dedicated spray booth, ensuring even, full coverage.

6. Oven Curing

The coated component is cured in our industrial oven at the correct temperature and duration for the specific powder coat used.

7. Quality Inspection

The finished component is inspected under workshop lighting for coverage, adhesion, and surface quality before collection.

8. Collection or Dispatch

Your finished component is carefully wrapped and ready for collection from our St Day workshop.

WHAT WE CAN POWDER COAT

Motorbike Frames & Parts

We are especially well equipped to handle motorbike frames and associated components. Our blasting and curing facilities are sized to accommodate full frames, swingarms, subframes, and other structural parts. A popular choice for restoration projects and custom builds.

Bicycle Frames

Steel, aluminium, and chromoly bicycle frames can be stripped, blasted, and powder coated in any colour or finish. An excellent alternative to wet painting for durability and chip resistance. Popular for road bikes, mountain bikes, and custom builds.

Automotive Components

Brake calipers, suspension components, brackets, and other automotive parts can be powder coated to a professional standard. Please note: due to equipment size limitations, we are currently unable to powder coat large items such as garden gates, garden furniture, or large body panels.
